Day 1 Arrival in Kigali

Welcome to Rwanda! Meet and greet at Kigali International Airport by your Nziza Safaris driver-guide who will greet you with an extra ordinary welcome package demonstrating unique service provision in the land of a Thousand Hills Rwanda. With a cool breeze and well lit roads, you will be transferred to Hilltop Hotel Kigali.

Day 2 Kigali city tour

This will be followed by introduction with briefing about your trip. Depending on your arrival time and your personal program, your driver-guide may propose you a visit of Kigali city which includes
The history of Rwanda dates back centuries, Kigali has been a part of it for a hundred years. Founded in 1907 was named by Dr.Richard Kandt, the first colonial resident governor of Rwanda. It is the main administrative and economic centre of Rwanda. as a German settlement, Kigali did not become the capital until Rwanda’s independence in 1962 when it replaced the colonial seat of power in Butare. Since then, Kigali has seen major economic development resulting in what it is today; a vibrant African city of 1 million with wide boulevards, an international airport, world-class hotels and restaurants, crafts & curio shops as well as a lively, cosmopolitan population. Visit the Kandt Museum, presidential palace Belgians blue berets burial, tour old Kigali and the craft centres then visit the genocide memorial site. Learn about Rwanda’s history pre-colonial to 1994 genocide; learn about other genocides in the world. Tour more and see the new developments in Rwanda, the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience. Lunch and overnight at Hilltop Hotel Kigali

Day 3 Transfer to Kirehe

Visit Imigongo and practice ancient artisanry in the region, watch the waterfalls in Rusumo (Border between Tanzania and Rwanda). Visit local markets late afternoon. Overnight at Umbrella Hotel in 
Kibungo town.

Day 4 Transfer to Akagera National Park and afternoon boat ride.

At 11;00PM let’s take a two hour and half drive to the East impressive Akagera National Park, reaching around 13;30PM for briefing at Akagera National Park. Akagera is run by the African Parks Network, and offers game drive along the ancient tracks which today are being revitalized, as well as new chances to enjoy boat cruises on the adjacent lakes. where you will be rewarded with view of game as hippos, crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species. Day 5 Game Drive and Back to kigali

We shall have yet another day of adventure within the park, enjoying the beautiful sceneries of Rwanda’s hilly landscape, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah and woodland, the  natural forests also make quite a view. The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to rest of the country, therefore meaning that it is not only warmer but drier. Some of the wildlife you will see here include:  Giraffes, Buffalos and Elephants as well as a profusion of birds. If fortunate, we may be able to sight at the Shoebill Stork, especially around the shores of the lake. From here you will drive back to Kigali, Dinner and overnight in Kigali

Day 6 Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Enjoy your breakfast, a after your breakfast, we head south west to the verdant Nyungwe Forest National Park making a stop over at the King’s Palace found at Nyanza and there we shall learn more about Rwanda’s history.You will visit Butare Museum enroute and Lunch at Huye city, after Visit National University and the National Museum, introduction to Rwanda’s kingdoms, discovery of Colonial architecture, enjoy traditional dancers from the museum or the national university, after continue to Kitabi. Overnight and dinner at KCCM.

Day 7 Transfer to Nyungwe Canopy Walkway

This morning transfer you to Canopy Walkway for 40 minuets drive in the forest, a thrilling adventure awaits you on the Nyungwe Canopy Walk. From the park information centre, descend the 40º slant via a zig-zag foot path to the first tower deep in the forest valley for the 1½ hr walk on the Canopy Walk’s suspension bridge. Besides being so high in such a picturesque location, the walk allows access to the upper parts of the forest, where one can see some unique ‘canopy’ species; apes, birds, butterflies, plants and insects, flowers, leaves and other animals that live in the roof of the forest which are otherwise invisible but can now be seen at eye level, or even from above. It is an unforgettable experience. Lunch at the Nyungwe Forest Lodge after lunch visit Gisakura Tea Plantation Overnight and dinner at Nyungwe Forest Lodge

Day 8 Chimpanzee tracking

It is possible to track Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest however this is in very hilly terrain with steep hills and deep valleys. Because these semi-habituated Chimpanzees move a lot, sometimes far, deep and high in the hills and valleys in dense forest, it is difficult to guarantee seeing them. One has a chance of seeing some of the primates who ‘call’ Nyungwe home including Angola colobus monkeys, Black and White Colo bus, Grey cheeked Mangaby, Blue Monkey, L’Hoest’s Monkey, etc. Overnight at the Nyungwe Forest Lodge

Day 9 Waterfall and Kibuye

Breakfast, with your packed lunch move for a full day forest guided walk with in Nyungwe Forest National Park. On this long walk, you will visit the Kamiranzovu waterfalls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch. On this walk expect to see a lot of bird species and also primates like monkeys among others. Return back to your lodge dinner and overnight.

Day 10 Visit to L'Esperance Children's Orphanage and Village

A visit to the L’Esperance Orphanage and Children’s Village, located in Kigarama near Kibuye, will give you a first hand view of how generous organizations and donations from individuals have helped this Children’s Village to thrive and have funded various innovative projects in and around the Village. You can choose to spend the day there, help out if possible or you can relax by the lake for the rest of the day.

Day 11 Kibuye to Gisenyi

Driving along the shores of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is one of the great lakes in Africa and the largest of the fresh water lakes that gleam in the Albertine (Western) rift of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Kivu stands at 1461m (4,790ft) above sea level establishing it as Africa’s highest lake. The northern shore of the lake is often subject to eruptions from nearby Mt Nyiragongo. Kibuye is Rwanda’s most attractive of lake ports, nestled in a series of interwoven and undulating hills and offering visitors spectacular views of the lake, its islands and the stunning surrounding countryside. It is considered one of Rwanda’s hidden treasures, with its lush green hills and peaceful breeze. Lunch in Kibuye and we will continue on to the town of Gisenyi. With its waterfront and sandy beaches and excellent views of Lake Kivu, Gisenyi is a wonderful place to relax, having a captivating feel of a tropical beach resort. Dinner and Overnight at the Inzu Lodge.

Day 12 From Gisenyi to Musanze

In the morning to be spent relaxing and re-energizing or we can offer you the choice of a value-added activity as follow;
• Visit hot springs and learn about the geographic make-up of the Virunga volcanic chain.
• Visit local projects in the area and interact with project members.
• Visit local artisans and a local women’s weaving association and see how your visit makes a difference in their lives. lunch at you Hotel
Our tour guides / driver who will transfer you in Kinigi, driving past the eye-catching terraced verdant hillsides which actually characterize majority of the landscape of Rwanda, gradually ascending to the bottom of the grand volcanoes bringing to sight five peaks.When you arrive at Rwanda Gorilla Volcans Park, you will check into your accommodation. Dine and slumber at Kinigi Guest House / Gorilla’s Nest / any similar.

Day 13 Hiking Bisoke Creater Lake

Early in the morning hiking bisoke creater lake, afternoon; en-route to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo visit brick making sites and bee hive locations. Overnight at Muhabura Hotel in Ruhengeri town.

Day 14 Trekking Mountain Gorillas – Return drive to Kigali

Today you will begin the day early with a quick breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a thrilling experience while gorilla trekking. Following breakfast, head to the Headquarters of Kinigi with packed lunch, water plus a light rain jacket for a briefing about the gorilla trekking escapade. In this briefing you will be advised on how you should handle yourself on finding the gorilla, what to carry with you for the trekking and among these will be trekking-boots because the track takes you along the steep slippery grounds in the heart of the forests. The activity of Gorilla trekking is somewhat fatiguing and frustrating however very rewarding when you finally come face to face with these gentle apes. You will be permitted to spend an hour in their presence, taking photos and observing there very impressive way of living.After Lunch to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village in Musanze District based in the community bordering Volcanoes National Park. At the village, you will have a wonderful, interactive experience, learning all about Rwandan traditions, culture, song and dance.
Halfway back to the city, we will stop in Nyirangarama for shopping snacks  then you will be driven back to the capital Kigali to the Airport to catch your flight.
