Day 1 Arrival in Kigali
Welcome to Rwanda! Meet and greet at Kigali International Airport by your Nziza Safaris driver-guide who will greet you with an extra ordinary welcome package demonstrating unique service provision in the land of a Thousand Hills Rwanda. With a cool breeze and well lit roads, you will be transferred to Mille Colline Hotel.
Day 2 Game drive and Boat Ride
Drive to Akagera National Park passing through Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and living lifestyles. After check in go for a game drive where you may spot various wild animals. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. You might spot various water animals like the hippos and crocodiles. Dinner at Akagera Game Lodge
Day 3 Game drive and Back to Kigali
After an early breakfast, Meet and greet your driver and guide at the hotel drive to Akagera National Park passing through Rwanda’s phenomenal landscapes and living lifestyles start your morning game drive, which takes you on tops of rolling hills surrounded by beautiful lakes from the south up to the north, on top of a hill when watching a magic view of 3 lakes in a same time. where you will surprise buffaloes and elephants drinking. Some are home to some species of birds like Egyptian goose and fishing eager. Have a picnic lunch in the park then continue with the hills game drive. Here you meet all animals known to be living in a game park: impalas, zebras, bush bucks, water bucks, tops, orbits, baboons, giraffes, cape elands, lion, rhinos and so many others. This way takes you towards beautiful bushy rolling hills up to the north exit of the park. From here you will drive to Mile Colline Hotel.
Day 4 Transfer to Southern Province
This will be followed by introduction with briefing about your trip, one of our tour guides will guide you to King’s royal palace museum Nyanza and Ethnographic museum during a 3-hours drive, you will have to experience the culture and tools of ancient Rwandans. after go to Huye town to have your lunch. After having lunch transfer to KCCM for Dinner and Overnight
Day 5 Morning Transfer to the Canopy Walkway
Take breakfast and head to the Uwinka overlook to be briefed and proceed to the forest with your guide to canopy walk adventure and after lunch Birding walk at Gisakura. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungze Top View Hotel.
Day 6 Chimpanzee Tracking and Bird Watching
It is possible to track Chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest however this is in very hilly terrain with steep hills and deep valleys. Because these semi-habituated Chimpanzees move a lot, sometimes far, deep and high in the hills and valleys in dense forest, it is difficult to guarantee seeing them. One has a chance of seeing some of the primates who ‘call’ Nyungwe home including Angola colobus monkeys, Black and White Colobus, Greycheeked Mangaby, Blue Monkey, L’Hoest’s Monkey, etc. After Lunch go for Bird Watching Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungze Top View Hotel.
Day 7 Waterfall and Kibuye Lake Kivu
Breakfast, with your packed lunch move for a half day forest guided walk with in Nyungwe Forest National Park. On this long walk, you will visit the Kamiranzovu waterfalls where you will enjoy your picnic lunch. On this walk expect to see a lot of bird species and also primates like monkeys among others. Lunch at Kibuye after lunch do boat ride in lake kivu visiting Amahoro Island, Inyenyeri Island, Napoleon Island. Dinner and Overnight at Saint Jean Hohel.
Day 8 Kibuye to Gisenyi
Driving along the shores of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is one of the great lakes in Africa and the largest of the fresh water lakes that gleam in the Albertine (Western) rift of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Kivu stands at 1461m (4,790ft) above sea level establishing it as Africa’s highest lake. The northern shore of the lake is often subject to eruptions from nearby Mt Nyiragongo. With its waterfront and sandy beaches and excellent views of Lake Kivu, Gisenyi is a wonderful place to relax, having a captivating feel of a tropical beach resort. Dinner and Overnight at the Inzu Lodge.
Day 9 Gisenyi Tour
In the morning you will take a boat Trip to the Islands of Lake Kivu – OPTIONAL
or make a visit to BRALIRWA industry and go forward to see the hot spring in
Nyamyumba sector lunch at Gisenyi . Dinner and Overnight at the Inzu Lodge.
Day 10 Morning Transfer to Kigali
Transfer to Kigali halfway, we will stop in Musanze for Buhanga Eco-park and in Kinigi enjoy with traditional dancers at Ibyiwacu Cultural Village and Nyiragarama for shopping snacks then you will be driven back to the capital Kigali. Dinner and overnight at Mile Colline Hotel
Day 11 Kigali City Tour and Airport
Enjoy your breakfast and drive in Kigali to catch up with your scheduled flight back home
8.30 AM – 9.30 AM
Get a sense for the history, architecture and culture of Kigali during this flexible-length sightseeing tour. Visit the charming Quarter Commercial, known for its pop-up businesses and up-all-night vibe. You’ll also check out the country’s Presidential Palace, where you’ll see the wreckage of the presidential plane shot down in 1994. You’ll also pay your respects to the victims of the country’s mass genocide at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. Your Kigali city tour also includes a guide and round-trip hotel transport.
9.30 AM – 10.30 AM: Presidential Palace Museum
Your driver/guide will meet you at your hotel for a city tour. This tour will continue to the old Quarter commercial, where some old fashioned buildings are still found, before heading to the rapidly changing neighborhoods via the colorful Nyabugogo valley, which is the main taxi park, serving all four corners of the country. The road to the Presidential Palace passes near the Kigali International airport and the Kigali Convention Center. The museum is a short way east of the airport as well as the Kanombe Military Hospital. In the process of being progressively restored, this former presidential palace is located on the eastern outskirts of the city. Only very few exhibits are found there, yet it is worth visiting. You will still see the wreckage of the presidential plane where it was shot down – over the garden wall!
10.30 AM – 12.00 : Church of Ntarama
The Church of Ntarama was converted into a genocide memorial on 14th April 1995 and is dedicated to the 5,000 people who lost their lives there. One of Rwanda’s six National Genocide Memorial Sites, Ntarama contains human remains, clothing, and artifacts belonging to those who were killed at the church, which remain on display at all times.
12.00 – 1.30 PM: Meals
You have a Lunch at Mile Colline Hotel
1.30 PM – 3.00 PM: Kigali Genocide Memorial Center
Your guide will drive you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial center. It is estimated that more than 250,000 victims are laid to rest in this Memorial. Audio guided, you will be led in different areas of the Memorial.
At the end of the tour, your driver will take you back to your hotel.
3.30 PM – 4.30 PM: Natural History Museum
Also known as ‘Kandt House’, it is approximately 10 km from Kigali International Airport, this Museum is dedicated to Dr. Richard Kandt a German doctor and explorer who embarked on an exploration of Rwanda in 1897, searching for the source of the Nile River. The Natural History Museum aims at explaining the richness of Rwanda’s Nature. The idea being that it is only through the knowledge of the nature we live in that our behavior and understanding will change. This museum showcases many specimens and replica of the natural wonders of the country
4.30 PM – 5.30 PM: Shop for African Art facts at Kaplaki
After Kandt continue to Kaplaki art craft market is so amazing when you are looking for local art products made in Rwanda by Rwandans and presents to take home. They have various categories of their products, like baskets, calf’s , traditional clothing made in Rwanda and so many more. Later in the day you will be taken to the airport for your departure flight.
